Because Nothing Says Wine Bar Like A Neon Sign

I think more people should support these guys. It's obviously a hard time for everyone let alone a business in Noe Valley. They should do everything they can to drum up business...if neon signs work so be it. I like this place btw. The food is fresh and it's kid friendly.

Relax people it was just a comment. There are plenty of nail salons with tacky signs on Church Street.

I lot of people dislike Fattoush. I like them okay, I even wrote a good review on Yelp for them when I moved into the neighborhood. I think they are best for getting some takeout meze for a casual summer dinner at home.

But I agree that that neon sign is AWFUL. It is super bright at night and it is now the only thing you can see when you walk along that block when it is dark.

What I don't understand is what makes Fattoush a "wine bar" now. Yes, they serve wine. Does that automatically make you a wine bar?

I usually enjoy the food there but I tend to dislike the way the owner treats the wait staff.

We've been going to Fattoush since it opened also and think the food is excellent. When we went there two weeks ago, I was really dismayed when I saw the neon sign. It not only is horrible to see, it really cheapens the place. It's quieter there in these difficult financial times, but I can't see the sign bringing anyone in. It didn't the night we were there. Hard call but the sign really detracts from the experience. I expect it at Arbys not Fattoush.

Agree with other posters. In my few experiences at Fattoush:

(1) Dinner is surprisingly good.

(2) Owner treats his staff very poorly (including racial remarks), and then upon slow service, came over and apologized, blaming his staff for quitting on him. Um...

(3) The one good thing I can say about breakfast is that there's no wait to be seated, but there's a reason why there are lines at Chloe's, Toast and Savor, and not here.

(4) The neon sign is very tacky--it looks like another of the nails and waxing places that seem to be on almost every Church St. corner on that stretch.
