Whole Foods Countdown: Shuttle Service Ending

The shuttle service Whole Foods provides once a week to get seniors to other locations while Noe Valley waits for a new grocery store? Ending September 22nd.

Update (8/22): As noted in the comments, the Tuesday Farmer's Market will end this week on the 25th - Whole Foods wants their parking lot back. Today two different vendors told us that the organizers of the FM are not interested in negotiating for more space because they...ahem...disagree with the recent Op-Ed CEO John Mackey penned for the Wall Street Journal regarding health care reform. (That'll teach him.) Rumor is they're trying to organize another market elsewhere. Stay tuned.

Well? Does this coincide with the store opening, or is that still later?

Good question. Not sure. I went to the Tuesday Farmers' Market and learned that next week's market (August 25th) will be the last one. A vendor said that the Whole Foods is going to be opening sooner than expected.

my guess is that they're planning on opening then, but they'll wait a bit longer to publicly announce it - less they run into some issue and then have to delay another week or so into October.

Well of course the organizer of the FM are boycotting WF. It is just not acceptable for anyone to express disagreement with Obama -- obviously the CEO is a racist. I mean really: Does it help this country for someone to write a well-reasoned piece in the WSJ explaining a different approach to healthcare reform? No, that person must be shunned -- we cannot consort with people who think differently than we do; San Francisco is too progressive and tolerant to allow for that.

I was having lunch with a friend who works at the Whole Foods in Novato. Several of her colleagues have put in to a transfer to the Noe valley store. Which according to her isn't slated to open until September 30th.
