For the sake of any missing kitties, I hope they find the snake ASAP.
I hope the snake doesn't squish (or eat) Squishy...he/she has been missing for a while, and there are signs all over Clipper street. Cutest cat name ever!
Newsflash folks, it would be really hard for a kingsnake to take down a cat, they're not that big and there is no way that species could swallow a kitty. It would be more likely that the snake would get attacked by the a feline or even a hawk.
These nights are pretty chilly for a cold-blooded creature who's used to a heated environment. If you do see the snake, it's likely to be on a warm sidewalk or a sunny rock.
King snakes are pretty agreeable, and I agree that it wouldn't attack a cat. The only creatures in much danger are rodents.
I live at 27th and Sanchez, and I HATE snakes. Please let us know if/when it's found. Also, if you choose to have a four foot snake as a pet, please do your neighbors a favor and keep track of it.
I love how the owner left a detailed description as if we run into 4 foot black snakes every day. If I find this thing in my yard, I will probably not feel compelled to flip it over and check for spots on the belly.
