Blue Skies, Blue Angels Over SF

The biggest Fleet Week in decades is in town and the Blue Angels are flying. While you can see them buzz Noe a few times, it's worth the trip across town to see them at close range by the Bay. The airshow runs from 1-4 and the Angels fly from 3-4.

Wow, I didn't know this blog was a fan of the military-industrial-complex. Oh, who is paying for these six fighter-jets to fly over Noe Valley? Yuppp- It's you and I. What a monumental waste of money. Hardly "worth the trip!"

I doubt that the merchants on the waterfront would agree with this assessment. Fleet Week is a big kick in the economy for the local tourism industry.

I'm not even sure how much SF kicks in vs. the Navy in general - it's not like we're renting the Blue Angels.

You can argue the overall value to society, but SF benefits financially from Fleet Week, and it's not even close.

Entertainment ruins our children. Plain and simple. Too much traffic. There was also noise. Harumph.

Love,

Typical Cranky Noe Neighbor

Ya, that's it: War is good for our economy...that's what we need is more wars to lift us out of our economic doldrums. Remember Pearl Harbor. Make war, not love.

Fleet week will inspire our next generation to become the warriors for our new economy.

If folks are so deeply into experiencing the sounds of fighter-jet flyovers, I suggest they go live in a war zone. Fleet Week sucks.

Fleet Week is one of the best weeks for SF. Nothing wrong with honoring and remembering the military heritage of this City. Fleet Week rules!
