We haven't been able to confirm what's happening in the old MadKat space at 3836 24th St, but apparently the neighbors aren't pleased with the work. The following complaints have been filed at the building department:
- Construction on going without a permit
- Plumbing work in the commercial space w/o permits
- Elextrical work w/o permit in the commercial space, walls have been opened without permit, ceiling w/out permit

Ouch. Striking color for sure. Let's just hope it doesn't become another nail salon.
We walked by this afternoon and the new place is now open for business. According to the young woman working inside, the shop is called Shampoo & Bubbles. Different look, different owner, but basically the same hair, skin and and nail products as MadKat. And what about the bright paint job? Here to stay.

I don't mind the color of the store front. It's different but it's definitely better than old boring colors that MadKat had. I went into the store and they have a good selection of products. I am glad to see that it is still a beauty supply store since this is where I have always bought my grooming supplies. Although a lot of people are not happy with the pre-opening activity that went on in the store. I am happy to support this local neighborhood business.
Not knowing anything about the guy, why do people have a problem with Isa?
The bright aqua color is much better than another empty storefront, IMHO.
