What about we get The City to hire Mona to "do her magic" on those ugly boxes in Noe Valley. I recall one on 26th at Dolores...

I would prefer we don't hire any artist to paint over the utility boxes. leave them as is. painting them into cute, naïve scenes, like Mona does simply calls attention to themselves.

Let's not turn Noe Valley into a Thomas Kinkade "village of light" yuck.

Just curious as to what people thought of the Wine Walk last night? I ask because though it was fun to stroll 24th St. and see neighbors, the actual event was a bit of a bust in my opinion -- not many businesses participated, and frankly the promoter's ad made it sound much better than it actually was. Except for Ambiance, which actually made an effort (thank you!), I didn't see any "bites" except for a lonely cracker on a plate at Whole Foods. And unless I missed something, where were the "special treats"? Love the idea of this event, but if it's held again next year, I hope they do a better job of it. Also, where did the $25 ticket price go? To Steven Restivo or to the participating merchants? If to the merchants, then that's a good thing, as the Merchants' Association does so much for our neighborhood. But if it went mainly to the promoter, well, I think what scant little we got for our ticket price was not worth it. Thoughts?

There was also some food at Just for Fun and Small Frys and treats at Cliche Noe but I think the crowd was more than expected so they ran out of stuff before it was over.As far I understand the money goes to the promoter, might be nice if some donation by the promoter was spent on some snacks to go along with the wine or came back to the neighborhood. It was fun
