Announced: Cliché Noe

Looks like truth in advertising for the shop opening in the space last used by Mystery Books:
Located in the heart of San Francisco, Cliché Noe is a 'varietal' gift store. Filled with eclectic gifts specifically tailored to appeal to all ages, we want to welcome you to our neighborhood. Our soft opening date is set for November 25th, so look for updates!

GREAT NEWS! Best of luck to the new business owners. It'll be great to have a new little shop on 24th St.

Yea, just what we need; another junk, gift shop.

I give it 6 months before failure.

RIP Mystery Book Store---why the owner wouldn't let you stay is not a mystery--they want it for themselves.

I haven't seen any post about the new pet-oriented store on Castro. What gives?

The name completely turns me off. Cliche? Seriously?
Too bad they had to kick the Mystery Books. Terrible location for a gift store. Anonymous #2, 6 months is rather generous, don't you think?

Yea, good point. I too absolutely hate the name. Put it on the ridiculist!

Maybe we give it 4 months. dumb name. dumb store.

Boy, you guys are mean.

Mean? How mean was it to evict the Mystery Book Store. For what? A gift shop filled with crap It's all pretty sad.

The Mystery book store was awesome and authentic.

Another gift shop filled with crap is not.

I spoke with the owner of the Mystery Book Store before she left and it was her decision to leave. She knew the building owner needed to remodel and it was time for her to make a personal change. She told me she was going to continue with selling books from her home to regular customers, develop a website etc. Not sure if that is happening but wanted to clear up any misunderstanding that she was "kicked out".

I really appreciate the good wishes and we hope to be Familiar, yet Fresh as in the nature of the goods we will sell and what we hope will be good energy to fuse into this community, Noe Valley, our new home. Please feel free to stop in and check on our progress! Yes, this little space needed some serious love and we wish only the best to our former occupant and neighbor.

Sorry Book Mom, but that is not what she told me and other customers----no, she did not want to leave, but had no choice.
