Celia Sack packs the
event calendar at Omnivore Books as full as she can, and she's a natural host. Yesterday she played photographer and Twitter witness to a marriage proposal (highlights by
The Bay Citizen here). Celia's
summary? "You know what the best part was for me? All of y'all cheerleading, stressing, wondering, & congratulating. Just made it SO fun." Sweet.

Give me a break -- yuk.....
Yea, anon, I was sorta thinking the same thing; kinda sappy, sugary,kinda yukky too.
the proposal doesn't bother me. what's sad is the owner's obsessive need to share each and every thought in her head, as it occurred, during the proposal. ie, "OMG! is she going to say yes? i'm so nervous, you guys!" (paraphrased). it's just another example of how social media encourages people to overshare everything. imagine if the owner had witnessed the proposal, stayed in the moment, and then told a few close friends about it. would that have changed her experience? do we need to share everything with the greatest number of people? can one ever have a private thought or experience anymore?
@Anon 11:07 -- Thanks for sharing!
The proposer asked the owner to be involved and tweet the experience for the couples' friends and family. He called ahead and planned the whole thing. Did you read the article, anon11:07? and as anon8:44 said: thanks for sharing!
the write-up on the bay citizen said "he called ahead" but did not say he asked for a twitter play-by-play. perhaps you know more than i do. regardless, i stand by my previous comments.
