A Hyper-Local Guide to Noe Valley
There goes the neighborhood. Because you know who is the head of the cult of Philz? That's right - the freaking cyclists....
I'm sure the folks at Cafe Ponte one block down the hill must be delighted.
Reverse gentrification! Revolt! Gah, Mission coffee place gets uppity and invades Noe... someone should retroactively get mad at the Starbucks on 24th. Don't worry Noe, fixed-gears have a hard time getting up 24th, 25th, or 26th. You're safe. No more impediment than usual for turning left out of Whole Foods lot.
If Cafe Ponte makes amazing coffee, then they will be fine.
Philz coffee is not that good. seriously not.
If I am looking for intelligent comments, this thread (blog) is a great place to go, NOT
Then why are you here reading it?
The idea of a coffee shop across from the heavily used Noe Courts park is brilliant. They will do a great business in water, coffee and snacks for the tired and hungry toddlers and their handlers. Coffee is to each his own taste. I start my day with Peets.
I agree, Book Mom. Mine is Marth's in the morning. Hope the Peets people get their java in the hood soon
I agree with 4:06. This is easily the worst micro-neighborhood blog in the city (check out Bernalwood, Haighteration, Ocean Beach Bulletin, LiveSOMA for contrast). Bad writing, terrible humor, snark, ugly photographs. So why am I reading it? Because there is not an alternative that I have found. Yet. With luck that will change soon.
Don't let the blog kick your ass on the way out.Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I was so excited when I drove by the other day and saw the sign in the window. I'm so sick of having to go to Peet's and Philz in the Castro for good coffee nearby. I just hope they hurry and open up soon!
Philz is good coffee. This is good news, so everyone relax.
Like I said, it's not that good. Plenty of better coffee and espresso drinks at Bernies and Martha Bros.Relax.
Martha's? You must be kidding. Martha's has the worst, burnt, over-extracted coffee in SF. People who go there just don't know better. I mean that in the nicest way. Their "baristas" are completely clueless about making espresso. This is not just my opinion. coffee ratings and other sites have confirmed. Philz is OK. not great.
Geez-looks like the previous anon has the worst, burnt, over-extracted clueless opinions about coffee of anyone in the city--must be from somewhere else. MJB, anyone?
