RE: lines at Whole Foods…since I live right around the corner the lines are the first thing I check. If the express line (never have more than 10 items) is too long I turn around and leave. If there are at least 4 cashiers at the express checkout the line will move faster than you think.
Normally I get all my produce at the 24th St farmers market and supplement with TJ and Rainbow Grocery. I go in the WF only when I need to, to buy their reasonably priced 365 products or sale stuff. There is a sweet woman there who always asks me if I have Prime. I tell her no and she still gives me the Prime discount on anything applicable.
Price warning…went in there a couple of days ago to buy a package of almonds. After I finally found them I had to stop a clerk and ask if I was seeing things. $11.29 for a 10oz bag of almonds??? That works out to just over $18 a pound. I normally get them at TJ for $6.99 for a 16oz package. That is highway robbery.
