This Week in Noe Valley: No Love (and Lots of Ridicule) for Doggy Style, 24 Hours in Noe Valley

Dogs are pack animals. They need companionship. Dog lovers who are too busy with work or other things should accept the fact that it's not in the best interest of the dog for you to be their guardian. Throwing insane amounts of money with these ridiculous day cares to "overcome" this is starting to look really tacky. If you need a dog fix, try volunteering at the SPCS or the like.
I think Doggy Style is getting a lot of misplaced hate. It's expensive to run a business in SF, and in Noe Valley in particular. I'd prefer someone to charge prices that keep them in business over another empty storefront. Yeah, they have a super expensive upper tier, but I'd want to charge a crap-ton for someone who is ultra-demanding about their dog, too - otherwise it wouldn't be worth the effort. And for everyone else, there's the lower tiers that are more inline with other competitors. What's the problem?
To respond to the commenter who thinks that Doggy Style's customers are those who work too hard to take care of their dogs: there may be some of those folks in the mix, but I'm someone who works in an office and has a dog - and it's not because I don't care about my dog that I use doggy daycare. It's because I care A LOT about my dog's welfare, and I know that she is in fact a happier pup when she is with a big pack of dogs a few days a week than with me every day at work. I have earned advanced agility certification and AKC good citizen recognition, my dog is only out of the direct care of me or my husband about 16 hours a week, and that's when she's having a blast at her doggie daycare. I think she has a pretty good life, and part of that life includes daycare.
