Are we to assume Canada was in a rent controlled apartment with very low rent? Going from that to a down payment and mortgage may have been unaffordable for her.
I had dealings with Andrew Zacks about 15 years ago (a group of us were trying to buy a 5 unit building that still had 2 tenants in it). His attitude toward the tenants (both low income and HIV+) was despicable. My partner and I dropped out of the group rather than work with him.
