Noe Valley SummerFEST 2012

Hawaiian shave ice, Smitten ice cream tasting, a petting zoo, live music, honey bee demos, a magic show ... it can only mean one thing: SummerFEST on 24th Street.

On Saturday June 16 from 11-5 (the day before Father's Day), 24th Street merchants will be throwing a family event in downtown Noe Valley.

There's nothing posted about this year's festival on the NVMPA site yet except last year's poster, but if you've seen the SummerFEST banners high on poles on 24th Street and wondered what they say, click the image above to see a larger version with full details.

  1. Many people came around on Saturday asking me (Carol Yenne/SmallFrys)who was paying for the Summer fest and how it could possibly be free to everyone? Just so you know...each member of the Noe Valley Merchants group, (Bob Roddick is President) pays $150 year in dues, that money helps pay for the Hayrides, each property owner on the 24th St. CBD district(Deb Niemann is director) pays extra property taxes not paid in other neighborhoods, that money pays for sidewalk cleaning, trees, flowers and subsidizes events like this. Contributions from other donors mentioned on posters, such as Circle Bank and Just for Fun fill the gaps for money needed for these events. There is no city money involved. So, if you want to know who to thank for these free events, it is the property owners, those businesses who pay dues to the merchants organization and donors listed on the poster.
