Noe Valley Artisan Beer Mirage

For a few brief moments today Noe Valley had a "favorite" artisan beer shop ...
...until it didn't.

Uh, right. The mystery tweeter dayandchurch set up an account (and blog) only hours before listing the address as 1763 Church St - and then disappeared. Was it real or just a Spring tease? Anyone have any info? FWIW, CA ABC shows no permit history for that address.

Oh, and if you're looking for the real favorite Noe Valley artisan beer, check out ESB Ale.

  1. Permits don't just "fall through", unless you don't have a permit, or you don't really know what the hell you're doing.

  2. Maybe this is a new "market research" methodology - if you are thinking about opening a Widget store, put up some mystery tweets, see how people react, and if it goes viral, you know you've got a good business plan.

  3. 1763 church is a garage door.

  4. That 1763 address doesn't make sense because it is in fact a multi-unit residence but there is some activity taking place on that corner. I walked my dog past there on Wednesday and the business known (or perhaps formerly known?) as Connie's Hairstylist--1750 Church St--had the prototypical brown paper taped up on the inside to obscure the interior. I'm guessing that place hasn't been remodeled since 1975 so it would seem shocking if it weren't changing hands. That said, you don't just casually open a bar in a former hair place on a whim, unless you live somewhere other than San Francisco...

If this is a joke, it's cruel, I tell you! If it is just an attempt to do market research, read these blog comments and then do it! Please, for the love of God, someone open an amazing artisan beer store/bar here! I will personally keep you in business.

  5. ya...if hits this blog has it gone "viral;" and, Who gives a tweet? Now, if the Elizabeth Street Brewery made such an anouncement---that would go viral!
