Add the Spin City Coffee to my list of places not to go because of their greed. Thanks a lot Noe Valley Bakery for championing this way of doing business.

I second that. Totally made from greed rather than need.

Before the "greed" conversation goes further, please know that Spin City is the baby of ONE person who has carved a niche for herself in a tiny corner of a laundromat. Totally not the same thing as Noe Valley Bakery asking for money after a remodel.

I agree with the previous posters. It's not the same thing at all -- not that it matters now that NVB got its greedy paws on the money they wanted.

I'm the person who wrote the first post when this blog first announced NVB's kickstarter campaign. In that post, I said that I wouldn't give $$ for their Parisian display cases, but that I would continue to support them by buying their goods and mentioning them to friends. But then the owner's clueless and entitled post totally turned me off. Spend your own money if you want the neighborhood to be proud, lady! You don't need to beg from us!

So I've changed my mind. They'll never see another dime from me. Sweet Things at CalMart is a drive instead of a walk, but they'll get all my business now. Sweet Things has better baked goods anyway, but I always tried to support NVB just because it's local.

And guess what -- Sweet Things has never asked their neighborhood for money.

So just because Spin City is the "baby" of one person suddenly means she can beg on line for money to help her for-profit business?

I wish any business success with their business, but not thru online begging.
