A Hyper-Local Guide to Noe Valley
I see that in this photo they are sticking with their practice of parking on the sidewalk as well...
I was pro-plaza but I still enjoy seeing the holiday decorations at this place. And that car is in the driveway - never seen them on the sidewalk. And editor - seems a bit unfair to link to a Flikr page which basically accuses the tenants of this property as those doing the screaming at the public meeting when there is no evidence of that fact.
There is a brutally ironic comment on this thread "It may not look nice, but people need to park somewhere and with such limited parking in San Francisco, I think we need to get over aesthetics here. That is why public open spaces, like parks, exist."
UGH!! WHY on earth do people now put giant spiders on their house?? This didn't used to be a common Halloween decoration! For your average arachnophobe, this is fairly upsetting. I can't look at the house. It makes me feel panicky and like I'm going to throw up.
I cannot believe the comment about parking on the sidewalk. First of all, it's perfectly legal to park in your own driveway as long as your car is not protruding past the front of the house. It's hard to tell if their car is breaking that rule just a bit, but it really doesn't matter since there are loads of people standing on the sidewalk in front of it, so it clearly isn't preventing anyone from walking down the street. Are you the neighbor who has people towed because they only left five inches between the back of their car and the end of your driveway instead of the (virtually unknown) requirement of six inches? I mean, really.
for the record: it is not ok to park in your driveway if your vehicle blocks the sidewalk. It may not be right, but it will cost you a hefty fine to a city which is looking for more and more revenue. I just got a ticket, issued at 5 a.m. from a SFPD a-hole for not curbing my wheels although they were curbed. I took a picture and sent it in with protest---which was denied. I mean, really!
People who park like this are just lazy. I love to tow them!
these people never ever park on the sidewalk and even in the picture, they're clearly not blocking the sidewalk. If they were, all those people wouldn't be able to stand there.
